About

In our busy lives, music is often relegated to the background. VOLUME offers a communal return to rediscover the ritual of listening to an album in its entirety and appreciating its lore with others on the same wavelength.

Each session is built around one album worth diving into. We listen to the album from front to back and open up a discussion about the artist, the music, its cultural impact, and the arguments people have had about what it all means.

The Host

Ilyas Sholihyn is a former music journalist and the founder of VOLUME Sessions. He's spent over a decade telling human stories, and now brings that same curiosity into the room—just with more banter and a tendency to go on and on about oddly specific topics.

Desirée Chew is a graphic designer whose work is rooted in Singapore's alternative music scene and a musician in alternative-emo band Camping, drawn to the same gritty, DIY sincerity that Title Fight channels on Shed.

The Record

VOLUME #6 is dedicated to Shed by Title Fight, a raw and restless debut about the ache of outgrowing—people, places, old versions of yourself— and refusing to be held back by any of them.

In Partnership With
ART/ST Records

ART/ST Records is dedicated to bringing back the rich heritage of record making to Singapore. Its vision is to turn voices and stories that matter most into physical keepsakes.

Launched in May 2025, ART/ST Records (pronounced Artist Records) was born out of a home studio in Katong. While they began with music, they realised their true calling: preserving life. From a child’s first words to a grandmother’s last voicemail, ART/ST Records transform transient digital pings into permanent physical heirlooms. In a world of disappearing stories, they restore intention to how we communicate. They ensure your most precious voices aren’t just heard today, but are preserved as physical records for generations to come.

This session takes place at their space at *SCAPE. The room will be sounding right courtesy of TDAC, the DIY audio collective building hifi speakers and running workshops on making your own gear in Singapore.

2 Orchard Link, *SCAPE, #02-12, Singapore 237978
